The conference “Education: The Path to Peace in the Middle East” will take place on 12th of February featuring an insightful photo exhibition. This event will delve into discussions on education and recent curriculum reforms in the MENA region, with a specific emphasis on Palestinian education as a crucial element for fostering peace and stability.
The exhibition will showcase the poignant work of acclaimed Israeli photojournalist Ziv Koren, renowned for capturing the aftermath of the October 7th terrorist attack on Israel. The conference will commence with an opening address by Mr. Andrey Kovachev, head of the Bulgarian delegation to the European People’s Party at the European Parliament.
Our keynote speaker, Marcus Sheff, CEO of the Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (IMPACT-se), will shed light on the role of education, particularly through textbooks, as a vital deterrent to radicalization and instability in the Middle East. IMPACT-se is a global organization committed to monitoring and analyzing education for promoting peace and tolerance in national school curricula worldwide.
Distinguished guests include governmental representatives, representatives of the diplomatic corps, European institutions, and academic circles.
