From 17 to 19 October 2018, in Belgrade, the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria and the Atlantic Council of Serbia organized an international seminar on “Fundamental readiness for cyber security in the Balkans.” The event was supported by NATO’s Peace and Security Program. The seminar was attended by politicians, diplomats and cybersecurity experts from more than 10 countries, international organizations (OSCE, OECD) and non-governmental organizations.
The main purpose of the event was to emphasize the importance of regional and international cooperation between NATO participants and Partner countries in the region of Southeast Europe, as well as to support the development of cyber defense capabilities in the Balkan region. It focuses on five main priorities: awareness of the situation in cyberspace, protection of critical information infrastructure, capacity for cyber security, building cultures and policies and exchanging best practices by presenting new technologies from the local and international cyber industry. security.
