SUMMARY:Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the perspective of Bulgaria
DESCRIPTION:From 1st of January to 31st of June\, Sweden will assume the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union\, focusing on creating a safer\, more competitive\, greener\, and democratic Europe. Key objectives include maintaining European unity and ensuring a strong and competitive European Union economically. \nOn this occasion\, on 19 January at 11:00\, PanEuropa Bulgaria\, in collaboration with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Bulgaria\, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in the Republic of Bulgaria\, the European Commission in Bulgaria\, and the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute\, will organize a discussion at the House of Europe in Sofia. \nThe priorities of the Swedish presidency will be presented by Her Excellency Ms. Katarina Rangnit\, Ambassador of Sweden to Bulgaria. From the Bulgarian side\, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ms. Velislava Petrova and Deputy Prime Minister in charge of managing European funds Mr. Atanas Pekanov will express support for the Swedish priorities\, with a particular emphasis on European economic stability and sustainable\, equitable energy transition. \nThe event will be opened by Ms. Gergana Pasi\, President of PanEuropa Bulgaria\, Mr. Norbert Beckmann-Direks\, Head of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Office in Bulgaria\, and Mr. Tsvetan Kyulanov\, Acting Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria. \nThe event will include a question and answer session\, providing an opportunity for active participation by the audience and specialized media.
