WOMEN AND BUILDING PEACE: WHAT THEY DO AND WHY IT MATTERS – RESOLUTION 1325

The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria, the Association of Women Soldiers and the Montenegrin-American Youth Alumni Association, with the support of NATO’s Science for Peace program, are organizing a workshop on “Women and Peacebuilding: What They Do and Why It Matters – Resolution 1325” which will take place on 13-15 December 2016 in Podgorica, Montenegro.

The seminar will bring together representatives of NATO member states and Partner countries to discuss the development of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, the need for a common law, a new understanding and more discussions and research on this topic. The idea is to raise the issue and its importance while discussing women’s participation in conflicts, the importance of studying this area, the gaps that need to be filled, and the specific issues that women face in this environment. There will be representatives from the armed forces, NGOs, the government – about 21 lecturers from NATO member states and partner countries.
