The team of the Digital National Coalition took part in a series of seminars in Georgia, organized by the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute under the Bulgarian official development assistance, focused on the topics of energy, climate diplomacy, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The DNA seminar engaged a selected group of students from Sokhumi State University and was held in the “Bulgaria Hall” – a laboratory for innovation, funded by the aforementioned national program for official development assistance.
Andrey Bachvarov, Director of Digital Transformation and Yasen Tanev, Cyber Security Advisor at the Digital National Alliance introduced the participants to the basics of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, shared successful examples of Bulgarian startups and key practices in entrepreneurship.
Stephanie Velichkova, project and program manager, and Svetoslava Stoyanova, Digital Transformation Assistant at DNA, shared their professional stories, introduced students to the concept of social entrepreneurship, and demonstrated good practices from the recently successful Girls in AI Bulgaria hackathon.
Participants were challenged to develop and present in the form of a 3-minute elevator pitch their ideas for socially responsible projects. Topics covered included gender equality, environmental pollution, harassment, e-voting
As a reward for their work, the winning team received a free business consultation with Bulgarian experts, who will assist in the development of a real business plan for the project.
The meeting between the Bulgarian delegation and the students of the Sokhumi University laid the foundations of a successful partnership, which resulted in the newly established society for social entrepreneurship of the university, namely:
