Public Discussion on the Topic “EU during the Irish Presidency and Where Bulgaria Is”

PanEuropa Bulgaria, with the support of “Konrad Adenauer” Foundation, organizes public discussion entitled “EU during the Irish Presidency and Where Bulgaria Is”. H. E. John Rowan, Ambassador of Ireland in Bulgaria, and Tomislav Donchev, Minister of EU Funds Management, will participate in the event. It will take place on 15 January 2013 (Tuesday) at 11 o’clock in Hilton Hotel, “Musala 2” Hall, Sofia.

During the meeting Ambassador Rowan will symbolically assume the Presidency of the European Union and will acquaint the audience with a valuable overview for the next six months. He will present the priorities of the upcoming Irish Presidency including: economic stability, providing new jobs and economic growth. On his part, Minister Donchev will present the basic parameters of the future financial framework 2014-2020 and the Bulgarian government’s standpoint about the operational programmes development during the next financial period.

Ireland takes the lead of EU for a seventh time, which also coincides with the 40-th anniversary of the accession of the country to the Union in 1973.
