11/07/2022

On July 1st, following the successful French Presidency of the Council of the EU, began the Presidency of the Czech Republic. In an event held by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Sofia, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Bulgaria Lukáš Kaucký together with Gergana Passy, President of PanEuropa Bulgaria, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, Daniel Lorer, Minister of Innovation and Growth and Cvetan Kyulanov, Head of Representation of the European Commission in Sofia outlined Europe’s main priorities for the upcoming six months.

Following the slogan of Vaclav Havel “Europe as a task” the Czech Presidency shall focus on energy security, post-war recovery of Ukraine and managing the refugee crisis. While Paris’ task was to foster solidarity across all member states, Prague’s biggest challenges will be to build on it and achieve consensus.
